Dear Natick Voters:
Thank you for your vote on March 27th! I am so looking forward to this opportunity to serve our community and to get right to work on the important issues facing the School Committee. Recruiting a new superintendent, improving our curriculum, addressing facilities needs and working on budget matters are foremost among my priorities. The School Committee is a team working for you, and I hope to hear from you with your questions and concerns.
I am very grateful to the many supporters who worked for my election, and to my husband and family for all their help and kindness. Special thanks go to my brilliant campaign manager, Jackie Goose and volunteer coordinator, Louise Carroll who worked tirelessly and to their husbands David Goose and Kevin Carroll. I also congratulate Anne Blanchard and Dave Murphy, and I am thankful to Domenico Manago, Jerry Pierce and Michael Cashman for the ideas and energy they brought to the campaign for School Committee.
Sincerely,
Anne LaPlace Zernicke

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
With your support, I hope to serve as a member of the Natick School Committee to work at ensuring a quality education for each and every child, every day. As a parent and professional educator, I understand first-hand the unique challenges and opportunities facing our schools. I’ve devoted my professional life to studying how successful schools implement best practices to accelerate the learning of children of all ages and abilities, and believe my knowledge and expertise will be a great asset as critical issues such as the school budget and formal review of the mathematics curriculum are raised.
Natick has the potential to be a first rate school district. Achieving excellence will require strict oversight by the School Committee of budget and expenditures as well as a firm commitment to district-wide implementation of research-based, proven practices for assessment, curricula and professional development. Efficient use of all resources will result in maximizing the educational opportunities and achievement of all children. Clarity, consistency and collaboration as well as careful monitoring of district-wide goals and programming will help to meet the needs of every student as well as reduce district costs. Transparent communication and access to school information must be improved for parents and community residents. I have successfully worked with schools and school districts on such issues for more than 20 years.
I hope you will consider my candidacy for School Committee and give me your vote on March 27. I’m eager to work for you and with you on behalf of our students. Our schools are the heart of this community. Investment in the quality of our schools is an investment not only in the future of our children, but also in the future of the town of Natick.
Sincerely yours,
Anne LaPlace Zernicke
