Anne Zernicke for School Committee

Achieving excellence in Natick Schools; every child, every day.

Dear friends, neighbors, supporters,

On March 30th Natick voters battled heavy rain, whipping wind and huge puddles to choose what is best for the children and our entire community. I am tremendously grateful to the community for doing so and for their overwhelming support of a new Natick High School. The new high school campus will reflect our town’s commitment to community and collaboration as well as excellence in academics, the arts and athletics. There is no doubt, that with the addition of this new state-of-the-art high school campus, the Natick School district is poised to become one of the most outstanding school systems in the state. The tireless efforts of our superintendent, his administration and the Now for Natick High School group to inform the community about this project, answer their questions and to get out the vote was truly inspiring.

Likewise, I am tremendously grateful to the community for reelecting me to serve on the School Committee for a second term. We find ourselves facing exciting challenges and opportunities. I consider it an honor and privilege to serve on this committee and will continue to be an outspoken, unapologetic and passionate advocate for what needs to be in place to provide the highest quality education for each and every student.

Special thanks go to my husband and children whose patience, support and love helped me through this busy campaign season. I am grateful beyond words to them and to all of my dear supporters who hosted yard signs for me, offered kind words, support and advice and held signs on cold Saturdays on the common and on election day! Thanks, too, to the editors of the Metrowest Daily News with whom I had the opportunity to have a wonderful conversation. I learned that they pay close attention to happenings in Natick. Our town is extremely fortunate.

Natick is a caring community in the truest sense of the word. Our votes and choices show that even in difficult fiscal times we choose what is best for our children, their future and thus the good of the entire community. For that, I am most grateful.

Sincerely,

Anne LaPlace Zernicke
