In recent years, important research findings in the fields of reading education, special education and cognitive psychology have helped educators identify most effective practices for early identification; needs-based instruction; assessment; school leadership and professional development. Through my work in schools and districts, I have had the opportunity to apply research findings to actual practice. Given the positive impact these findings have on student success and achievement, it is critical that parents as well as educators have access to this information.
