Anne is proud to have had the opportunity to contribute to the following important accomplishments as a member of the School Committee from 2007 through 2010:

Selection and hiring of Superintendent
- Anne served on the Superintendent Search Subcommittee

Selection and hiring of Elementary Principals
- Anne served on the Principal Interview Subcommittee

Creation of a district-wide goals document

Increased clarity and transparency of budget process

Curriculum improvements
- Anne serves as chair of the Curriculum Subcommittee

Successful Contract Negotiations
- Anne serves on the team that participates in EAN contract negotiations.

Improved Communication
- Anne served on the Communication Subcommittee

Technology upgrades and enhancements

Approval by MSBA of proposal for building new Natick High School at 53.62 % reimbursement.
- Anne serves on the new Natick High School building Working Group

PRIORITIES for 2010-2013
Anne will continue to work toward achieving excellence for all students by advocating for:

Curriculum
• Elementary: alignment of English Language Arts instruction with MA State Frameworks by adopting explicit phonics instruction district-wide to strengthen existing reading instructional program
• Middle school: continued review and evaluation of middle school math program
• High School: review and refinement of schedule; increase in course offerings and electives; evaluation of rigor of courses; transition to enhanced educational program for new high school.

Technology
• Purposelful integration of technology to enhance and enrich instruction, K through 12 for all learners
• Ongoing professional development for faculty for support with IPASS, websites, and tools for instruction

Safety and Security
Expansion and extension of Anti-bullying curriculum with ongoing professional development and programs for parents.

Special Education
Review of effectiveness of early identification/intervention; process and role of ACT team and Special Education teams

Identification of resources for parents, i.e. SEPAC, to assist parents in understanding and navigating special education process.

Enhancement district Summer program offerings for struggling learners and advanced learners.

Community
Tapping into collective genius and talents of residents in our community by reaching out to those with expertise in technology, the arts, and fundraising.

Creation of a corps of adult volunteers available for tutoring
